R W F detachment Bermuda

2 photos of the detachment of the R W F arriving in Bermuda 13th of June 1953. These photos were taken of the 1st attempt to land the R W F guard for the 3 power conference but was postponed because Churchill was taken ill. So the conference took place later in the year.

In picture 1 on the left is Oscar Slater, then moving to the area of the goat, the man holding his rifle by the butt is “Darkie” Hutton a good hockey player next to Hutton is “Paddy” McMahon  the regimental tailor.Next is “Gash” Hughes Regt Police with white blanco on his webbing, then Sgt Duffissey and Sgt “Tosh” Thomas, then Lt Bill Roache aka as ken Barlow off of Coronation Street. on the far right is Lt Hughes a long time friend to Lt Roache.

 

 

Photo 2 shows the following by the luggage  Major Tolhurst and Sgt Jones 35,then moving to “Gash “ Hughes with white webbing next to “gash” is “Paddy” McMahon the regimental tailor,3 to the right shows Fus Wilshire. That is all the names I can remember
